I’m diving right in to the Snowflower Scarf makealong through Rowan Connect.
There has been quite a lot of buzz and excitement about this pattern by Martin Storey. Lots of folks have been picking and planning their colours, whether they’ll do the cowl or the scarf, and casting on. The first pattern instalment was released yesterday.
I really wanted to make this project but decided to challenge myself by using stash yarn. After I finished work yesterday, I came home and started pulling out and pairing yarns from my basket.
My final yarn choices are a mixture of handspun, Lichen and Lace Rustic Heather Sport, Jamieson and Smith, and Felted Tweed and they are all predominantly Autumn colours.
The first instalment has us knitting with a total of four colours (only ever two at a time) so I’m using Lichen and Lace in Beet and Ginger for my two backgrounds and Felted Tweed and Jamieson and Smith for the motif colours. I’m very happy with his this is knitting up and only have a couple of rounds left before completing the first release. I’m already looking forward to next Saturday for instalment number two.
Are you taking part in the Snowflower Scarf makealong? If so, what yarns and colours are you using?

Oh your colour combinations are perfect! My kind of colours. I checked out the site and like the smaller images best. Looking foreward to what you will continue with.
