Spring Snow Sneak Peek

IMG_1124

Still working steadily away on my new pattern and thought that today would be the perfect day to share a couple of spoiler pics.

I have chosen to name this shawl “Spring Snow” because it is soft, fluffy, and delicate, much like the last snows of the year.  The basis of the shawl is a garter stitch triangle with a knitted on top edging and a lovely geometric lace border.

The patterns is in the final stage of writing and will soon be sent out to be test knit.  I’m looking forward to making another  Spring Snow already.

WIP Wednesday – Queen Of Hearts Gloves

Today’s work-in-progress post is extra special.  I’ve been working hard on creating a companion fingerless glove pattern to go along with my Queen Of Hearts hat and I’m giving you all a sneak peek.

I actually broke down and bought some yarn for the project … crazy huh?  I think I’ve only bought 7 balls of yarn this year as I’ve been using up my handspun almost as fast as I spin it.  Anyway, I’m using two different shades of Paton’s Kroy Sock to give this new pattern a good test run and it seems to be working out quite well.  The first glove is finished now and the second one well underway.  I’m hoping to have this pattern available for download sometime in January.   Be sure to stay tuned for more spoiler photos!

What are you working on today?  Are you deep in the throes of holiday knitting or are you just knitting for the sheer pleasure of it?  I’d love to hear all about it!

Printemps (Taller Version)

As I mentioned in my post on April 4th, I’ve been hard at work creating a fun new spring hat pattern.  The hat pattern is written for two different lengths and since the 4th’s post featured pictures of the shorter version, I though that I would share a couple of picture of the taller version.

In the taller version of the pattern, the leaves on the crown are much more prominent.  It makes me day dream of birch trees in all their splendor and glory.

Be sure to leave a comment on this April 4th’s post to enter the giveaway to win an advance copy of the pattern.

Until then, happy knitting, spinning and crafting!

Queen Of Hearts Sneak Peek

Queen Of Hearts

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been hard at work on a new pattern.  I gave a few hints about the design and promised to show a few spoiler pics.

I would like to introduce you to the Queen Of Hearts.

My super awesome test knitters have been really quick going through and test knitting the pattern and I can’t thank you all enough!  The Queen Of Hearts is scheduled for release on Wednesday, February 1st but I may post it sooner so keep your eyes tuned to the my blog.

I am also working on a companion pattern to the Queen Of Hears so check back often for hints and spoilers!

Spoiler Alert! Skeleton Key Gloves

Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves

My knitting needles have been clicking away at various projects these days but I have been putting most of my time and effort into working on my book so I thought I would share  a few spoiler photos.

Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves

These bad boys are my Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves and they’re made to go along with the Skeleton Key Tam.

They’re worked in light fingering weight yarn (pictured in Belfast Mini Mills Ltd. Specialty Sock) and feature intricate cabling and twisted stitches.  Although they’re certainly not a super quick knit, they are definitely fun!

It is still going to be a while yet before my book is ready but it really is wonderful to watch things come together.

Be sure to check back often as I will be posting more spoiler pics and sneak peeks and I go along!
