fingerless gloves

WIP Wednesday – Queen Of Hearts Gloves

Today’s work-in-progress post is extra special.  I’ve been working hard on creating a companion fingerless glove pattern to go along with my Queen Of Hearts hat and I’m giving you all a sneak peek.

I actually broke down and bought some yarn for the project … crazy huh?  I think I’ve only bought 7 balls of yarn this year as I’ve been using up my handspun almost as fast as I spin it.  Anyway, I’m using two different shades of Paton’s Kroy Sock to give this new pattern a good test run and it seems to be working out quite well.  The first glove is finished now and the second one well underway.  I’m hoping to have this pattern available for download sometime in January.   Be sure to stay tuned for more spoiler photos!

What are you working on today?  Are you deep in the throes of holiday knitting or are you just knitting for the sheer pleasure of it?  I’d love to hear all about it!

Fiona And Skeleton Key Fingerless Glove Patterns Up!

Fiona Fingerless Gloves

I’m super excited to announce that my Fiona and Skeleton Key Fingerless Glove patterns are now available for instant download. Yay!   I know quite a few of you  have been anxiously awaiting them.

Both patterns require approximately 213 yards of light fingering weight yarn each and 2.75mm needles.  The Fiona Fingerless Gloves knit up pretty fast, especially if you are a magic loop knitter (I will be posting a video on how to knit using magic loop soon so keep your eyes peeled!).  The Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves are a little more time consuming because of the intricate cabling and all those twisted stitches, but they are definitely a very satisfying knit.

I want to thank all the lovely ladies who test knit for me.  You gals were so much help!  I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate you all.

Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves

The Skeleton Key And Fiona Fingerless Glove patterns can be purchased individually for $5 each or as part of my ebook, “Mirror, Mirror:  An Enchanting Collection of Matching Hats And Fingerless Gloves To Knit“.  The ebook is a collection of 6 patterns for only $15 (Thats only $2.50 for each pattern) which is by far the best deal.

Another thing to look forward to … be sure to check back later this week as I will be adding two new free patterns.

Got to love knitty goodies!

Spoiler Alert! Skeleton Key Gloves

Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves

My knitting needles have been clicking away at various projects these days but I have been putting most of my time and effort into working on my book so I thought I would share  a few spoiler photos.

Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves

These bad boys are my Skeleton Key Fingerless Gloves and they’re made to go along with the Skeleton Key Tam.

They’re worked in light fingering weight yarn (pictured in Belfast Mini Mills Ltd. Specialty Sock) and feature intricate cabling and twisted stitches.  Although they’re certainly not a super quick knit, they are definitely fun!

It is still going to be a while yet before my book is ready but it really is wonderful to watch things come together.

Be sure to check back often as I will be posting more spoiler pics and sneak peeks and I go along!
