This week was exceptionally productive for me. I finished spinning two new skeins of yarn, knit a new hat, and charted out the adult version of the Rainbow Unicorn hat. I’ve also been binge-reading “Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe” and “The Last Days of Socrates” by Plato as well as cooking and baking up a storm. Not bad, even if I do say so myself. I think that Spring has put a little more pep in my step 😉 Today I’m sharing the finished hat and two skeins of handspun with you.
I put the finishing touches on Amanita Muscaria yesterday and couldn’t resist adding on a multicolored pom pom. With a hat this bright and cheerful, it was absolutely called for. I’m really loving the blend of handspun and mill spun yarns and as well as the blend of fibres (alpaca, qiviut, merino, angora, BFL, and Romney). This was a very fun knit!
Next is handspun alpaca, merino, mohair, and silk and in my favourite colors too! The blues and purple in this skein bring to mind one of my favourite songs from childhood, hence, the name “Lavener’s Blue.”
And last but not least, is “Peacock.” A decadent blend of cashmere, alpaca, merino, and mohair, this yarn is sooooo soft! It is another skein for my farmer’s market table but the temptation to knit it up immediately might be too much for me.
Happy Friday all!
