WIP Wednesday – Wildflowers

Doesn’t this fiber just shout “Spring”? I saw this during my most recent visit to Belfast Mini Mills and immediately fell in love with it. This 4oz bump is a luscious blend of alpaca, merino, silk, and mohair in a wild and whimsical assortment of colors.  It makes me think of violets, perennial geraniums, comfrey, and foxglove … some of my favorite garden flowers .  I’ve decided upon playing with long draw for this spin because I want a really light, airy, fluffy yarn and so far, I’m pleased with the result.

Completely unrelated to spinning, we’re supposed to have a blizzard starting this evening so my friend from Vitamin Sea Studio and I hit the beach to enjoy the calm before the storm.  We *might* have taken a few pictures while we were there.

Happy Wednesday all!
