WIP Wednesday – Maritime Wool Socks

Now that winter is almost over, I’m knitting some new socks. Yup!  I don’t know why, but I always seem to knit socks in spring and summer, instead of winter.  Right on schedule … I guess it is just one of my quirks 😉

For these babies, I’m using my own Maritime Wool Socks pattern with Fleece & Harmony‘s gorgeous yarn in “Pine Forest”. The simple pattern really helps to show off the depth of the colorway. I’m super excited about their yarns because it is from their own sheep, grown right here on PEI by them, milled on site, AND they’re using Greener Shade (a more eco friendly and sustainable dye) to dye all their yarns.  Plus, they’re really awesome folks.  If you have an opportunity to visit their farm and mill in Belfast, I highly recommend it.

As you can see, I’m sailing right along with the knitting. I just started these this morning and already my husband is asking if they are for him.  He does love his homemade wool socks.

What are you working on this week? Have you found any new yarns that you’re really excited out?  I’d love to hear!

Happy Wednesday all!
