FO Friday – Flower Fairy Hat

IMG_0731 IMG_0735 IMG_0737 IMG_0725Recently, I’ve come across Jenny Alderbrant, known as JennyPenny on ravelry, that creates the most stunning and fun colorwork patterns for mittens and socks. I immediately fell in love with her Garden Fairy Mittens and knew I just had to knit it.

I chose to adapt the pattern to make a cute and cozy hat.  Cashmere and wool fingering weight yarns and 3mm needles, paired with the left hand chart for the child sized mittens, resulted in an adult sized, light weight but very warm hat.   I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and am looking forward to making another one in a different color using the right hand mitten chart.

What are you working on this week?  Are you fond of adapting patterns too?  I’d love to hear.  Happy Friday all!
