As some of you may remember, I made an extra special shawl a while back from a blend of Tully (dog) fur and merino and I had quite a lot of fiber leftover so D asked me to make a couple of dog inspired colorwork hats. For this hat in particular, I decided use the fiber in its natural creamy color as the contrast color, and for the main color, I dyed it using a low-water immersion technique for a lovely semi-solid color. For the actual construction of the hat, I picked earflaps with intarsia snowflakes, a dog motif and speckled crown, and a nice i-cord trim because I just love how it makes a nice finished edge. I started the knitting last night and just couldn’t put it down. I do love a good binge knit! He he he
The next dye/spin/knit project is also a dog themed hat but will be a bit different. But that is a post for another day.
Happy Friday all!
