WIP Wednesday – Handspun Rainbow Mittens

IMG_5754I know that July in the Northern Hemisphere, it might not seem like a great time to be working on mittens but I wanted to get a jump start on my Autumn/Winter knitting.  Plus, mittens are nice compact projects that are perfect for traveling and on-the-go knitting.

You might recognize the yarn as Sochi , one of my May spins.  It is a sport weight N-ply and I love, love, LOVE the colors.   The pattern is one of my own, which I eventually plan to share with you all.  It is a super simple pattern but shows off the handpainted goodness of the Greenwood Fiberworks super yummy fiber so very well.  I definitely see a few more pairs of these babies being knit up in the future!

What are your favorite traveling and on-the-go projects?  Do you prefer small and relatively simple projects or do you thrive on the more complex?  Do tell!
