FO Friday – Handspun Ukrainain Roses

IMG_5136 IMG_5130 IMG_5131I have had this beauty finished for what seems like ages but I just didn’t get around to getting good shots of it until yesterday.  Many thanks to the lovely Ms. Willow for modeling the hat for me.  😀

This hat is an adaptation of Natalia Moreva’s Ukrainian Roses Mitten pattern and I just love how it turned out.  I chose to use a really wonderful bfl/silk in “The Tracks” colorway by Northbound Knitting and paired it with a beige/tan merino which makes the colors in the bfl/silk really pop.

To knit the hat, I cast on 120 stitches with 3.5mm needles and worked 1″ of corrugated ribbing.  I chose one Ukrainian Rose chart and repeated it four times per round, decreasing for the crown just as written for the mitten.  I’m really loving how this looks as a hat!

What are you working on this week?  Are you doing any mods to patterns?  Do tell!
