I had planned on doing a WIP Wednesday post on this hat but I enjoyed knitting it so much that it was finished by Tuesday night. Talk about red-hot-needles on Tuesday huh? lol
The pattern for this hat was adapted from Natalia Moreva’s Ukrainian Roses mitten pattern. It was one of those patterns that I just knew I HAD to knit as soon as I saw it.
I cast on with 3.5mm needles and DK weight merino and merino/samoyed blend yarns and worked 1″ of corrugated ribbing and then started the colorwork. The Ukrainian Roses chart for the back of the hand, repeats 4 time per round to make the hat.
This was an incredibly fun pattern to knit from. I loved watching as the rose gradually appeared as I knit. I am looking forward to eventually knitting the mittens as well.
Happy Friday All!
