I’ve been craving cables lately and thought it was high time for me to knit a new cabled hat to wear.
I chose the pattern Rosebud by Jared Flood because I have been wanting to knit this since the first time I saw it. The yarn is some good local wool I’ve had in my stash for a while. It is MacAusland Woolen Mill’s 2 Ply Medium in a natural heathery grey. I like the kind of sheepy smell the wool has and the color is very similar to “Nest”, the color of the slouchy hat pictured in the pattern.
The blend of garter stitch and cables creates such wonderful texture and pleases my cable-craving
What projects have you been working on? Have you been longing to practice a technique? I’d love to hear all about it!

What a beautiful design and such a great color. It’s going to be lovely
Thanks Tina. I really enjoy Jared Flood’s patterns … the texture and details are fun to work.
I always come to see your updates and had never comment as I write in Spanish. But I absolutely love your blog. I live in Toronto.
I can’t never have enough of knitting and crocheting, it’s something it was passed to me by grandma and mom. We learn both @ school back home, in Chile. By the way that’s my background, Chilean but Canadian by adoption as I tell my friends.
I tagged your blog on my links, I hope that’s ok, I wanted others to see the beautiful things you create.
So glad that you’ve decided to post Mar and that you are enjoying my blog! My Spanish is not the best but I can greet you …

What a great texture there!
Thanks. I love the texture as well. The garter stitch really sets off the cable.
