For today’s FO Friday post, I’m happy to share with you my finished Granny Square Cowl. I had so much fun working on this project! I enjoyed carefully planning some squares and for others, closing my eyes and picking the balls of yarn at random.
The pattern I used for this project is Granny Square Cowl by Alice Best and I made six squares of seven rows each, joining as I went along. The edging is four rounds of single crochet, changing colors after each round. I really love the outcome … texture, tons of color, and a fun and quick project with cozy results.
Have you finished any projects this week or started anything new and cozy? I’d love to hear all about it!

That is gorgeous! love the color’s, I’ll have to try one sometime for sure. I’m knitting a pair of socks I saw on one of your posts. Gold Leaf Socks, they’re in blue because that’s all I had in sock yarn & I’m not anywhere near a store. Got one done. I’m also knitting a purple hat, called Etta, think I got the pattern on Ravelry or maybe from you, I’m not sure. Also, crocheting a red scarf. as you can tell I love color! I also almost completed a green shawl, my first one, i ran out of yarn,so I have to wait till I get more yarn. When these projects are finished, I’ve got the urge to work on some cross stitch. still hoping to learn to spin this year.
Thanks Judy! Sounds like you’re having a lot of fun. The Gold Leaf Socks are going to be gorgeous done in blue. Best of luck with all your knitting and hope to see some finished object pictures some day
Wish I had a Stash so I could start a cowl like yours
He he he! You’re too funny! My stash is actually getting quite small. I’m using up my handspun at a great rate and my stash basket is now only half full. Good thing I’m working on spinning 13 lbs this year …
Love the hat! Where’s the patterns?
Thanks Louise. The pattern is Little Ravens by Erssie.
That is simply gorgeous Simone and the colors are wonderful together. I love you pr hat too
Thanks Tina. The hat was a fun knit from a couple of years ago.
[...] seeing my friend Simone’s granny square cowl project (Sand and Sky Creations), I was inspired to see what I had in my stash that I could create something [...]
I predict you’ll sin at least 15 this year!
Wow! Thanks Judy! I’ll definitely be going for it!
Oops. I meant to say spin! Lol
like the cowl – love the colours – looks easy’ish, bet even I could manage it (i’ve got too many left thumbs normally when I crochet, and everything comes out wonky)…
It is definitely a fun project. Anna and works up really quickly (especially if you join as you go along). Give it a whirl!
