WIP Wednesday – Finishing Touches

IMG_0092

As I mentioned in last week’s WIP Wednesday post, it has been ages since I’ve crocheted and over the past week, I’ve really enjoyed the time I’ve spent working on my cowl.  In fact, I’m just finishing up the last round.  I love the texture and the color variations and the coziness of this cowl and with the windchill expected to drop to -35 tonight, I’m REALLY looking forward to wrapping up in it.

This project has definitely reminded me of how much fun crochet is and I wish I had bags full of odd and end balls of yarn so I could play some more … maybe even work on a new afghan …

So what are you working on this week?  Did you start something exciting or try a new (or forgotten about) craft or technique?  I’d love to hear all about it!

    Hi Simone,

the blue in the picture is stunning, I look forward to seeing the finished project! I am steadily working on one of the fleeces I brought home from the Maine Common Ground Country Fair last fall. Spinning a Romney fleece in the grease… I’ve just finished the second gigantic skein. Probably two more to go. I’ve learned a lot through this process and I feel better prepared to choose my next “spin in the grease” fleece next year. This experience is teaching me more than any book I’ve read. I LOVE it! This yarn will probably become a sweater, a warm fuzzy work in the yard kinda pullover.
    cheers,
    nic

How pretty, Simone! I use to do a lot of crochet, and your pictures make me want to try my hand at it again – Love the texture. I think I even have an afghan-in-process. Must get it on my to do list – Thanks!
Burrr! -35°. Last week it was below zero here, 68° today! I am sure that wont last :-)

Isn’t it funny how we sometimes forget about a craft we really enjoy. I hope that you do pick up your hook again and crochet up something fun!
