Wow! It seems like forever since the last time I picked up a crochet hook. There once was a time when all I did was crochet and lately I’ve been kind of missing it. So this week’s WIP Wednesday post is a special on for me because I’ve picked up the hook again.
The project I’ve chosen is Granny Square Cowl by Alice Best. If you’ve never run across her before, you’re in for a treat! Her crochet creations are a ton of fun and her photos are a delight.
For my cowl, I’ve chosen an assortment of odd and end bits of worsted weight yarn in a whole spectrum of blues. For some of the squares I carefully pick and plan the colors. For others, I like a little whimsy … I close my eyes and stick my hand into my yarn basket. The color I pull out is the color I use next.
I’m working 7 rounds (each a different color) for each granny square and joining as I go. I’m estimating that I’ll need between 6 and 8 squares to make a cowl that will loop twice comfortably around my neck. It is such a fast project to work up … I’ve got four squares finished and am trucking along on the fifth. This is going to be such a toasty cowl when it is finished!
And I have some other really great news …. my fire hoop is on its way! I’m over the moon excited!
I want to thank each and every one of my awesome customers to making this happen for me. You all rock!

your granny square cowl is going to be a stunner! I love those beautiful blues, you’ve inspired me to go and make another one for myself :O)
Thanks so much! I’m loving your pattern and already thinking that I need one in reds as well
