I stumbled upon this trick recently when I was spinning up a really beautiful fiber batt. I love the texture and color variations in the batt and wanted to spin in woolen but didn’t want to blend the fibers together by carding. So I looked for another option and found this quite suitable:

Paired with a long draw, I really like this method for spinning art batts as it doesn’t blend all the fibers together into something homogeneous, it allows the different fibers and colors to shine and yields a lovely woolen yarn.
