Today’s work-in-progress post is extra special. I’ve been working hard on creating a companion fingerless glove pattern to go along with my Queen Of Hearts hat and I’m giving you all a sneak peek.
I actually broke down and bought some yarn for the project … crazy huh? I think I’ve only bought 7 balls of yarn this year as I’ve been using up my handspun almost as fast as I spin it. Anyway, I’m using two different shades of Paton’s Kroy Sock to give this new pattern a good test run and it seems to be working out quite well. The first glove is finished now and the second one well underway. I’m hoping to have this pattern available for download sometime in January. Be sure to stay tuned for more spoiler photos!
What are you working on today? Are you deep in the throes of holiday knitting or are you just knitting for the sheer pleasure of it? I’d love to hear all about it!

Those are beautiful! I already bought your hat pattern, but I still have to get the yarn. I’ll havae to get this pattern too. I love hearts and keep finding them everywhere. A perfect heart shaped rock that I found on the beach here in Newfoundland. I found several in bread crumbs, a scrap of dark wool on my pink socks, in toothpaste in the sink, in my hand lotion jar, they’re everywhere! I’m not looking for them, they just keep popping up. This morning there was one in the butter! I’ve started taking pictures of them. I find it amazing, maybe someone is trying to tell me something! Anyway, I’ll watch for your new pattern
Judy, that sounds wonderful! Its like the universe is sending you little love notes!
I know, I love it! Last night I unloaded the dishwasher and there was another perfect heart on a teaspoon just waiting for me! Took pic of that too!
I do love those mittens, the colors are perfect. I haven’t tried intarsia yet, but someday I’ll get up the courage to try!
Thanks Martha. Just a word of warning … colorwork is EXTREMELY addictive! lol
Ohhhh…. now I have a reason to start that hat pattern in the new year! I can’t wait for your mitt pattern to arrive
Thanks Tina! I’m really eager to see the colorwork band on your cardi. Colorwork is a ton of fun, isn’t it!
They look amazing, I love the pattern! I’m working on a gorgeous blanket at the moment daisy grannies so pretty and some Christmassy stars. Oh and still spinning away! x
