I’ve been on such a West Knits kick this past while. I knit handspun version of Akimbo and Rockefeller (which I will be sharing all about on Friday) and now I’m starting on Daybreak. I love the bold geometric shapes and fun colorwork. Stephen West’s patterns are a huge amount of fun to knit!
The yarn that I’ve chose for my Daybreak are really lovely. I’ve chosen 40z of Falkland in “Saffron” colorway by NorthboundKnitting and some of gorgeous natural colored BFL from Spunky Eclectic. The subtle color changing in the center of the shawl makes me think of tree rings.
I always find my work-in-progress shots a little messy, what with the yarn stitch markers I use and the little ends poking out, but it feels great to slip all the stitches onto some scrap yarn and lay the shawl out so I can get a better picture of how everything is going.
Six of the sixteen color stripes are finished so I am trucking right along with this project. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the finished shawl looks like and how it feels to wear it.
What projects or crafts have you been working on lately? Do you take work-in-progress shots too? I’d love you to share!
