Canoe Cove

Yesterday, we spent a very enjoyable and fun filled afternoon at Canoe Cove at the Not-Back-To-School Picnic.  This was our first event with the PEI Homeschoolers and I can’t tell you how much we all enjoyed it.

Kirby and I tend to be really shy people, until you get to know us, so this was a big deal for us … getting out there, meeting other homeschooling parents.  For Judah and Willow, it was just another fun day at the beach.  I love how open our children are and wish that I could integrate as easily into as group as they do.

We spent a lot of time down on the beach watching all of the children play.  The tidal pools were full of hermit crabs and pin fish so they were a popular spot.

There were also a lot of crabs around so quite a bit of time was spent trying to capture them without getting pinched.

We met a lot of other families, some on their very first year like we are and other, more seasoned homeschoolers.  I had the pleasure of discussing philosophies, ideas, hopes, and dreams with other mothers and found that many of the families were kindred spirits.

Judah and Willow are really excited to meet up with their new found friends at future events and I look forward to meeting up with the other families as well.
