Wow! I can’t believe that it is time for another FO Friday. It seems that they days are just flying by.
As some of you may have noticed, I’ve recently given myself a haircut. And yes, I really do cut my own hair … for better or worse. The most recent cut ended up being quite a bit shorter that I had originally intended and, quite frankly, my hair is driving me bonkers! So it end up it is the perfect excuse for me to knit another hat. Some women collect shoes … I collect hats
The hat pattern I chose for my newest hat is Camden Cap by Woolly Wormhead. Cabby Caps are one style that I don’t think that I will EVER tire of. To me, they’re classic. They can be prim and proper, they can be funky, or they can be down right bad ass, and I love them all.
I decided to knit my Camden Cap in Spunky Eclectic’s July Club offering of 4 oz of Portuguese Merino in “A Bug’s Life” colorway.
So combine the earthy browns, yellows, blues, and greens of the yummy fiber with a cool cabby cap pattern and, to me, it is instant success! I’m loving my new hat. So much, in fact, that I really look forward to making another sometime soon.
Do you have accessories that you consider instant (and always) classics? I’d love to hear all about them!

What an awesome hat Simone and it is perfect knitted up in your handspun
Thanks so much Tina. This was my first experience with Portuguese Merino and I loved it! I can’t wait to try spinning and knitting it again. It is a very fun fiber to work with.
I do like the hat, its really cute. And from what I’ve seen of your haircut, it is too! My favorite thing to knit when wanting something fast is a pair of silk fingerless gloves. My sister can’t get enough so I can always give them to her. And a silk and wool lace hat that I love to knit. Socks I haven’t got the hang of entirely, so those are for when I don’t mind thinking
The colors of your handspun are very nice, a good colorway and funny name. A Bug’s life! lol.
Thank you Martha. Your favorite go-to project sounds lovely and your sister is such a lucky gal!
