As many of you know, I’ve been participating in the Ravellenic Games with Team Canada this year and my goal was to knit a handspun verion of Stephen West’s lovely Akimbo shawl.   I am happy to report that I finished knitting and blocking my new shawl yesterday 🙂

My shawl is knit from fingering weight handspun in merino/yak fiber in “Coxstand” colorway by Spunky Eclectic, natural colored BFL handspun also from Spunky Eclectic, and some lovely grey merino handspun that I had kicking around my stash.  I’ve been trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe over the past year and these colors will go really well with most of my current clothing.  A girl has to love that!

Although the weather her has been REALLY warm, I’m looking forward to wearing my new shawl.  The handspun is so snuggly and soft … I can see that this is going to get a lot of wear this fall/winter!

Are you participating in the Ravellenic Games this year?  If so, what are you working on?  I’d love the hear all about it!
