Today is a really fun and exciting day in the fiber arts world. This evening marks the kick off for the 2012 Ravellenic Games. People passionate about all things fiber will be dyeing, spinning, knitting, and crocheting up a storm for the next two weeks. I love all the amazing and inspiring projects that people create during the games.
This year, I will be playing along with Team Canada again and I’m hoping to knit a handpun Akimbo but there are other lovely things happening as well!
Clue 3 has just been released for the West Knits Mystery Shawl and I am VERY eager to dive into it. I’m hoping to post some progress pics of the KAL next week. And yes, it is in handspun 🙂
Also, Amy King of Spunky Eclectic fame, has just released the Rumpus Recipe Shawl pattern today. This is extra sweet because it is suitable for any weight of yarn and according to the pattern page on ravelry there are a TON of options to customize the shawl.
The pattern has:
- Beginning (2 choices)
- Middle section – all over pattern (4-5 choices)
- Samplers in lace – (so far 6 choices)
- Samplers in texture (so far 5 choices)
- Transition pieces – (4 choices)
- Edgings/endings (so far 8 choices)
- Bind off (3 choices)
