The prize of my garden is a tiny, almost inconspicuous, little flower that could very easily be missed by most people … my lavender. Each and every year I look forward to its spiky purple flowers that to me, smell like heaven. Today, I picked the first of these little beauties.
Lavender has many uses but what I grow mine primarily for is lavender lemonade. I skip the hibiscus and usually use honey instead of the sugar for my favorite summertime drink. The only problem is that it seems to disappear very quickly!
Do you have a prize plant in your garden? Do you have something special that you make only during the summer? I’d love to hear all about it!

The over 100 degree temperatures and dry spell for the past three weeks have left the plants outside in a rather depressing state. Happily, we have a great farmers market so I can get blackberries for my annual summer blackberry pie with cream. Mmmm.
Our lavender is going nuts and now I have a great summer drink to use our lavender with …. thanks for sharing! Oh… I use fresh lemonade for my sweetener that I use for Tazo Passion ice tea. It’s so good and like your drink, it doesn’t last long!
I know you’ll love it! Your drink sounds amazing. Is there anything quite a nice as lemonade on a hot summer day?
