WIP Wednesday – Handspun Oaklet Shawl

I have a tendency to only think of taking pictures of finished projects but lately, I’ve been on a roll photographically, so I grabbed a couple of my Oaklet Shawl.

After seeing Tina’s shawl and other really great Oaklets done in handspun and variegated yarns, I decided that I HAD to knit one from handspun.  In May, I spun up some BFL in “Shades Of Burgundy” by Greenwood Fiberworks and thought it would be the perfect yarn for the project.  The second skein was spun this month for my 12 lbs in 2012 goal.  I have finished spinning up 7 lbs of wool now but that is for a later blog post 🙂

The shawl is knitting up really quickly  and is the perfect to-go project for car knitting and soccer practice knitting.  I’m already looking forward wearing it!

So what projects are you working on now?  I’d love to hear!
